Waterproofing - Mosman

The owner’s corporation of this terrace style apartment building was seeking a cost effective solution to waterproof extensive outdoor terrace areas with sweeping views over Sydney Harbour. SPMA worked with a leading membrane manufacturer to document a comprehensive waterproofing system to address the specifics of the site and meet the owner’s expectations for service life and cost. The owners also required a system that was sufficiently simple to install for an existing contactor that they had a good relationship with.

The works included:

• Provision of scaffold access

• Demolition of tiles and screed to existing terraces

• Detailing of substrate to accommodate new membrane

• Installation of polymer modified screed to provide adequate fall to existing drainage

• Installation of a 3 layer liquid membrane system (with quality insurance inspections throughout the process)

• Installation of large format tiles
